Keshab Gangopadhyay - President and C.E.O.
Keshab Gangopadhyay is the founder of NEMS/MEMS Works, LLC incorporated in 2004 in the state of Missouri. The company was created with a vision to commercialize technologies in the area of nanomaterials and micro/ nanodevices developed at the University of Missouri. Dr. Gangopadhyay is also a Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Missouri and holds an Adjunct Professorship at the Nuclear Science and Engineering Institute. He has been on the editorial board of international journals and the executive board of nanotechnology consortium. He works closely with the university, investors and federal agencies to commercialize several relevant technologies.
Shubhra Gangopadhyay - LaPierre Chair Professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, MU
Shubhra Gangopadhyay is a C.W. LaPierre Endowed Chair Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Missouri as well as Co-Director of the MU International Center for Nano/Micro Systems and Nanotechnology, which researches and develops miniaturized systems and nanomaterials. Her research has been funded by such organizations as the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army and the National Institutes of Health. A fellow of the American Physical Society, Gangopadhyay received the 2002 Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Scientist of the Year Award at Texas Tech University. In 2008, she was a Nano 50 award recipient for the invention of nanoengineered thermites and applications. Shubhra has a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. from Jabalpur University in India.
Gregg Scheller - Chairman, Board of Directors
Gregg Scheller is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from MU and is currently the Director of Entrepreneurship in Residence and Co-Director of the MU Biodesign and Innovation Program at the University of Missouri-Columbia, College of Engineering. He is also the current Executive Director of the Missouri Nanotechnology Enterprise Consortium and serves on the Board of a number of Companies. He has been CEO/Founder of two consecutive successful medical device companies. He took the second company public in 2005, being responsible for all aspects of the companies: initial fund raising to frequent “road show” presentations on Wall Street, account supervision from bookkeeping to public-company audits, operations from making products to managing a 400-person organization, R&D from doing it personally to managing an R&D department with 30 engineers and designers, Sales and Marketing from doing it personally to employing 50 sales and marketing professionals selling in 85 countries. Mr. Scheller is listed as inventor on approximately 50 US Patents and was the 2007 Ersnt & Young Midwest Life Sciences Entrepreneur of the Year.
Steven Apperson - Vice President, Research and Development
Dr. Apperson has a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri. He is responsible for development of commercial and military applications of nanothermites. He spent seven years doing research on nanothermite characterization and performance evaluation at the University of Missouri. He works with the University of Missouri, military research facilities, and private companies to develop and test various nanothermite applications.
